We are a growing and changing collective of actors, artists designers and musicians who make our work in our village of Forest Row, East Sussex.
In 2010 our first production 'happened' in the cellar of the local grain and pet food store.
We swept away the grain and dead rats and then recreated a derelict farmhouse in South Africa for African Gothic by Reza de Wet.
This set the bar for our future happenings!
We have created 'ad-hoc' spaces within our village and further afield.
We rarely perform in designated theatre spaces, and love the freedom and the imaginative stretch that this provides. Not only to us, but to our audiences and their preconceived ideas of what going to the theatre is all about.
We love the surprise and thrill that happens when we open the doors and let the audience in!
Our company creates with limited time and money.
Every moment, every penny is precious, and this informs how we work.
Our sets are often found or reclaimed but this does not detract from the excellence of the design or quality.
Our rehearsals are always rigorous encounters as we challenge ourselves to push beyond our barriers of anxiety and artifice to be as emotionally naked and pared back as we can be whilst exploring the text.
Our ensemble values are muscularity, irreverence, courage, humility, exploration and the right to fail.
Only then is anything dared!

We are very lucky to be able to use the dairy at Springhill Farm for our work and we are truly grateful to the Douch family for this great opportunity.
